We launched our #CraftedInLeeds competition to celebrate 10 years of Fresh Cut and to support local people on their mission to set up and run successful independent businesses – just as we were back in 2006.
Our video for Maude Coffee is the first of six exclusive pieces of content that we’re giving away over the next year. Find out more here
We met with Maude Coffee to discuss their brand, and learned about their team’s deep-seated passion for high quality, ethically sourced coffee. The firm possesses a remarkable depth of expertise, and we were blown away by their technical knowledge of how to roast coffee beans to make spectacularly good brews.
We drew up a concept for the Maude Coffee #CraftedInLeeds video, and proposed to make a story-led video that introduces Maude to prospective customers, educating them about how they ethically source their beans and roast their coffee.
The video highlights the science behind coffee roasting and the finer points that require meticulous attention in order make the perfect brew. With such a large amount of information to get across in the film, we decided to use tracked-in-motion-graphics to add this information in a creative, engaging, cinematic way.
All the toys came out to play on this shoot.
We wanted to keep the viewer’s interest with some dynamic camera work so we used a combination of Movi camera stabilising technology, sliders, fast and slow motion, and lots of our trademark flare lighting to boost the production standards and hold the viewer’s interest until the very last frame.
Our team take pride in keeping up-to date with all of the latest marketing trends that are working for brands across social. Cinemagraphs, also known as animated GIFs, have been becoming increasingly popular with brands, helping breathe some life back into photographs, essentially creating a more effective marketing tool.
We are fascinated by this halfway house between a still image and a photograph and we decided to take this opportunity to spoil Maude and offer them some additional assets for their marketing campaigns.
As well as writing, filming and editing the videos, we also offered the Maude team free expertise and support to help them maximise the video’s exposure to new audiences.
The video quickly captured nearly 5,000 views in the first week, while the number of people following Maude’s Facebook page grew by over 70% and their weekly page views shot up by an astonishing 1,285%
Not bad for a weeks work?
