Micky Yule’s Incredible Story – Documentary

Micky Yule is a Paralympian powerlifter who lost both legs serving with the Royal Engineers in Afghanistan.

His story speaks to the heart of the work that National Lottery funding does for good causes, and telling that story was a challenge that we knew required an extraordinary production.

The Challenge

Facing a short timeframe for the shoot, we created a unique set in Micky’s own garage, and used the Red Epic and Freely Movi camera stabiliser to deliver an intimate portrait of a unique individual.

The end result is a short, moving documentary piece that packs a powerful message within an unforgettable story.

“To do Micky's story justice we had to be quite miticulous in terms of the planning we had to do.

Fresh Cut made the decision to shoot on the Red Epic and Movi to created strong stylised sequences all within a really challenging timeframe which allowed us to capture everything we wanted.
