As a new food outlet in the increasingly competitive culinary city of Leeds, Zaap came to us looking for a way to increase brand awareness and build a sense of excitement around their Thai street food restaurant in the city’s Grand Arcade.
This presented Fresh Cut with a fantastic opportunity to create a unique piece of video content that captured the authentic Bangkok atmosphere that Zaap has brought to the heart of Yorkshire.
As soon as you walk through the doors of Zaap, you’re immersed in the sights, sounds and smells of a bustling Bangkok night market. The restaurant is alive with activity and the steaming street food stalls, tuk-tuk seating areas, neon lights and imported Thai decorations immediately captivate your senses, while the restaurant’s service team make sure your every need is tended to from the moment you arrive.
We set out to recreate this energy and ambience on film by focussing on the key elements that shape the atmosphere and the texture of the environment. We worked closely with the management and staff at Zaap in the weeks leading up to the shoot to gain a strong understanding of the restaurant’s ethos and the core values that needed to be communicated in the film.
We arrived at the shoot with our creative concepts firmly in place and a detailed plan of the footage we needed to obtain. We created a film that tells the story of Zaap in the words of the restaurant’s owner and the team who work there, blending dialogue with images that sum up the customer experience. We pulled the piece together with a piece of Thai music that infuses the film with the energy and optimism of this brilliant business.
Zaap’s social media channels were an obvious choice when it came to getting the finished video in front of a large, targeted audience. The marketing team specifically pushed the video towards the most relevant demographic – people living in Leeds who enjoy eating out.
When you’ve got engaging, high quality video content that promotes your brand, targeted social media marketing is a great way to get the most out of your budget.
