with Papa John's

The 2018 World Cup was one of the most memorable tournaments the UK had seen for decades. England took the nation by storm and did everyone proud – summer 2018 will definitely be one to remember! We were so glad that the team at Fresh Cut got to be a part of it. 10 days hard graft. 18 million viewers. And a lot of pizza eaten on set! 


 MG 3638Whilst the England supporters were getting ready for the World Cup, hanging their flags and buying crates of beer – we had the pleasure of working with Papa John’s on their 2018 World Cup TV Campaign. Working in partnership with Sports Marketing Agency Sportquake and Creative Design Agency Cygnus we planned the shoot, designed and built the set, shot and completed the project in just 10 days end to end. The end result was totally “Unbelievable” and what could top it off better than working with sports legends Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling.


 DSF5880For our Producer, Ollie Sharp, it was an interesting first week working fulltime at Fresh Cut and he was keen to make a great first impression by running a seamless operation.


“It was a pleasure to work with such a professional in-house crew. Everyone worked together and knew exactly what they needed to do and how to get it done. This made it possible to get the shoot done to meet our (tight) deadline and it couldn’t have gone smoother. 


We worked with one of the best set designers in the country and the set was built overnight in just 12 hours from start to finish in our Leeds Studio at Sunny Bank Mills. Our editors and clients worked closely with the production crew throughout the entire process, in fact the shoot was going so smoothly things took a surprising yet amazing turn…”


 DSF5708Ollie tells us “The shoot was only originally meant to be for social media, however as the team set the standards so high, the client made the call to put the campaign on prime time TV. What better slot than during the England World Cup games on ITV?!”


This led to our content being played throughout the World Cup during the England games reaching an impressive  audience of over 18 million viewers during England vs Belgium! We couldn’t have achieved that without our excellent crew who pulled out all of the stops to turn this around in 10 days end to end (A tedious amount of Papa John’s pizza was also a big help!)”
